Aircraft & Marine Inflatable Adhesives
|
Royal Adheisves & Sealants,LLC Aerospace & Marine inflatable Adhesives & Coatings Division developed LA 4123 as a modified contact adhesive for seaming vinyl membrane into environmental pond liners. This adhesive type is commonly called a bodied adhesive or solvent. When properly applied, tests show LA 4123 to provide peel adhesion values as high as 22 pounds on pond lining unsupported PVC. The bonded seam strengths are in compliance with NSD Standard Number 54, page 6, and table IA, which is a 10-pound minimum. Greater bond values are achieved on different substrates.
LA 4123 has also been used with great success in the inflatable industry for use as a repair adhesive. This product has excellent adhesion to Polyurethane and PVC coated fabrics. It is very user friendly based on the 3-5 minute open time it exhibits. Bond development is fast and this is the adhesive of choice among river rafters.
